Getting it Right for Business of Any Size

All I need to know was confirmed when I went out on my own:

  • Serve your clients better than you serve yourself. It’s the only way to create a successful business.

  • Know how you are different and why that difference is what a potential client needs.

  • Continually build and work your network. You never know from where a great referral will come.

  • Always be grateful when people put their faith and trust in you. Never forget they can always do business elsewhere.

  • Adopt your personal values as your business values. If they conflict, you will lose yourself and your business.

  • Communicate the value you are delivering. And, then do it again.

  • Bring the best resources to your clients, even if it isn’t always you.

  • Charge what you know your services are worth and set payment parameters. This isn’t the time or the place to be demure.

  • Help younger people get ahead. It’s good for your soul and for your business.

  • It’s OK to part ways with a client when a relationship isn’t working. Learn how to identify the best clients for you.

  • It’s also OK to take an afternoon off! You’ve earned it.
